On 22 May Family festival was organized in Teneniai basic school. Along with parents and children of Teneniai eldership in this event participated Šilalė District Mayor Jonas Gudauskas and Education, Culture and Sports Division Chief. Specialist Daiva Bukėnienė, Elder Loreta Petravičienė, Headmistress Gitana Kužmarskytė.
The old wood carver Vytautas Toleikis and harness wicker Juzefa Lekavičienė shared memories of his childhood and the relationship between parents and in their families, interest in folk art. Town residents discussed the relationship between the current families, increasing women’s role in the upbringing of children (and in this event the fathers were in the minority), the existing problems.
After the conversations and discussions participants played checkers, played “folk bowling”, tasted the soup and potatoes with “kastinis” (Samogitians ancient dish, its taste reminds of butter or fat sour cream with seasonings).
